We are committed to resolving any of our clients queries or concerns!
What are shipping containers made of?
All our containers are made of Corten steel: a high tensile, anti-corrosion steel that is sturdy, safe, and well-equipped to handle even extreme weather conditions. All containers feature double opening doors at one end with locking bars and catches. The steel units have marine ply floors, which have been tested for a safe storage load of 24 – 30 tonnes. They also include air vents for air circulation.
How secure are shipping containers?
Shipping containers are extremely secure and virtually vandal-proof. For added security, you can have a unit installed with a locking case (lockbox) to secure your padlock from bolt cutters.
Can I store my container anywhere?
The team at All Direct Container Sales can deliver units to be stored on dirt and grass, as long as it is not too wet or soft. We can also easily store units on cement, pavements, asphalt, and gravel. When considering having a container delivered to your site, you must make sure the surface is level, smooth, and firm.
Do I need permission for a shipping container?
As shipping containers are non-permanent structures, it generally is not necessary to get permission to store them on your premises. However, if the container will be kept in a residential area, near a road junction, or where sight lines may be affected, it may result in complaints from neighbours. You may want to consider submitting an application to your local Council to approve the short-term use of a container on the Council land strip. In each case, we recommend you check with your local authorities prior to delivery.
What should I put underneath the container?
Shipping containers should be placed on a level surface, where possible. If they are not, you may experience difficulty when opening doors. Our experienced drivers will assist with positioning containers on either sleepers or concrete blocks, which allows ventilation under the container, and reduces any moisture coming up through the container floor.
If I purchase a container, can you buy them back at a later date?
Yes, we are happy to buy back units. Buy back price is subject to the age, condition, and current market value of the container.
Can I choose the colour of our container?
Yes, in most cases you can. Second-hand shipping containers come in a variety of colours, and we also provide exterior painting services if you so desire. We use quality marine paints that come in a number of different colours. Please discuss your colour preferences with us. Please note that new units are subject to available stock.
Is there a minimum period of rental or storage?
Yes, we do have a minimum container hire term of four weeks. This applies to both on-site and off-site storage.
How can I pay?
You can pay by cash, cheque, debit or credit card. We have facilities for BPAY, Pay at the Post, and over-the-phone credit card payments. If you would prefer to send payment via an electronic fund transfer (EFT), please contact us for bank details.
How much does it cost for delivery of the container?
Costs vary depending on how far the container has to travel. When you purchase a unit from All Direct Container Sales, you will only pay one-way transport. If you rent a unit, you will have to pay for the return of the unit as well. Please ask our expert team for a quote on shipping container transport costs.
Is there any maintenance I need to do to the shipping container?
Shipping containers are robust and durable, requiring little or no maintenance. To ensure the doors are kept in good working order, we recommend you grease the door hinges at regular intervals.
Can I select our own unit if purchasing it?
Yes, we are happy to have you inspect and select a unit within your budget at our depot in Meadowbrook. Please note that units are sometimes stored at other depots, or access to the unit you wish to see may be restricted due to the placement of other stock. Please give our staff at least 24 hours’ notice prior to the time you wish to inspect our containers.
